Kimi Raikkonen Confident with Lotus E20 in Melbourne


Team Lotus F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen believes E20 cars according to the Albert Park track in Melbourne, Australia which will host the series opener (03/18/2012). The conviction was based on the results of tests at Jerez and Catalunya, Spain some time ago.

Told by former world champion in 2007 that the E20 has a good traction and it really helped. "Strong and stable braking while turning, it is very helpful. Plus, get comfortable with the car, so we are well on track," said Kimi.

Despite the two-year absence, Kimi still has a "record" about the Albert Park circuit. He said, the track a little slippery at the start and the weather in Melbourne is always warm and it's a bit tricky as the first race. However, Lotus engineers have undergone simulations and view the test data, "So we have an idea as to what the car when it appeared in Albert Park," said Kimi.

When asked about the Lotus position during the race in Australia later, he could not predict. He focus of the program itself until the weekend. "I'll try to do what is good and see where we end up. For the first race in Australia we want to have a good weekend without any major problems or mistakes," he explained.
